Reality Is an Illusion

This artwork is inspired by a book that was gifted to me by a Buddhist monk called An Introduction To Buddhist Meditation for Results by Anchan Vinai Ussivakul, where it proclaims “… The ‘seeing’ of living beings, things or symbols is not real in the ultimate sense. In fact, it is merely a mental creation based on the aggregation of wavelengths of light. Such mental images in the form of living beings, things or symbols, do not exist in nature at all. As a matter of fact, their arising is caused by one’s mind in gathering the aggregation of ‘visible objects’ to serve as a basis for mental creation.” This artwork illustrates this concept by trying to show the Ultimate Reality which is wavelengths of light, and our eyes and brain transforming them into the artwork itself that you are seeing at this very moment.
